The historic Colonial Homes community in Buckhead is undergoing a $100 million rebuild and renovation in three phases, Pollack Shores Real Estate Group announced May 21.
The Jane at Colonial Homes, named for Bobby Jones’ Calamity Jane putter, will be Phase 1 and consist of a six-story, 280-unit complex that will begin pre-leasing operations in June. According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, construction on The Jane in South Buckhead began last year.
Phase II construction will launch in July. That project will replace 84 of the original 1940s-post World War II townhome apartments, located along the south side of the property and facing the historic Bobby Jones Golf Course, with four- and five-story luxury apartment buildings. Phase III plans re being finalized and will likely include a major renovation of the 128 apartment units on the north side of Colonial Homes Drive, just south of E. Rivers Elementary and Peachtree Battle Avenue.
Pollack Shores worked with the Atlanta Memorial Park Conservancy for ideas on improving the community. As a result, the firm will include a 1.5 acre public park in the center of the property, adjacent to the Bobby Jones Golf Course and the Atlanta BeltLine.
