The Virginia-Highland master plan was approved by resident vote at the May 19 meeting of NPU-F at the Hillside Center, according to a report Virginia-Highland Civic Association website. The final tally was 72 votes for and 5 votes against.
Adopted unanimously by the Virginia-Highland Civic Association Board of Directors in April, the plan will move next to the Atlanta City Council Community Development Committee and then on to the full council for adoption and inclusion in the City of Atlanta Comprehensive Development Plan.
The master plan provides a strategic vision in key areas like mobility, transportation, open space, recreation, safety, environmental issues, urban design, historic resources, public services, economic development and education.
