Italian restaurant and cocktail bar Y Bar e Ristorante opened last week at Buckhead Village.
Backed by Y Hospitality, the restaurant group behind Yeppa & Co., Storico Fresco, and Forza Storico, Y Bar takes over the former Storico Vino and Pachengo spaces at the luxury Peachtree Road retail and dining complex.
Taking inspiration from cafes and bars of 1960s Italy, specifically the Adriatic coastal town of Rimini, where partner Stephen Peterson grew up, the design for Y Bar leans into the era with a U-shaped bar, vintage fixtures, and old family photographs and prints on the walls.
Y bar also features a covered patio with wooden bistro tables and a terraced outdoor seating area behind the building along the pedestrian alleyway, styled after the piazzas of Santarcangelo di Romagna, a town near Rimini.
Like the group’s other restaurants, Y Bar’s name traces back to Peterson’s mentor Roberto, known as “Yeppa,” an exclamation he’d make whenever he got excited.
Expect dishes based on Peterson’s family recipes at Y Bar, including Aunt Becky’s artichoke dip, burro e alici, prosciutto e piadina, pinzimonio, cacio e burro, and a mini meatball sub called I’m Workin’ With 3 Inches.
Cocktails take cues from Italian aperitivo culture, like the bruschetta martini, Coppa de Nonno, Negroni Fruttato, and Margarita Pizza. While the wine list favor producers from around Italy, some bottles on the list come from Y Hospitality’s own vineyard, Enio Ottaviani Winery.
Y Bar e Ristorante, 3065 Peachtree Road, Buckhead Village. Open Tuesday – Thursday, 5 p.m. to 12 a.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Starting at 9 p.m., Y Bar is 21+. Kitchen closes at 10 p.m.
