Mayor Kasim Reed kicked off the second annual ‘Mayor’s Summer Reading Club’ on Saturday a the Children’s Museum of Atlanta. A joint initiative of the city and the Georgia Early Education Alliance for Ready Students, the reading club will bolster vocabulary and literacy skills of children aged 8 and younger in Atlanta by distributing high-quality books to children, while providing parents and guardians with the practical tools needed to help their children become early learners. The kick-off event “Let’s Read, Let’s Move” is a part of First Lady Michelle Obama’s initiative to jointly combat the potential decline in reading skills during the summer, as well as the ongoing national challenges associated with childhood obesity. Children participated in craft-making, reading books, learning how to make a healthy meal, and doing fun exercises. Kids also got to take one a free book. 1. Please check & change your spelling of summer in the title. Mistakes happen I know, but a spelling mistake in a title related to reading?
    You’re welcome.
