Metro Atlanta showed one of the strongest home price increases among American cities in the most recent Case-Shiller home price report, according to the AJC. The Case-Shiller composite for the nation’s 20-largest cities was up 10.8 percent in the past year. During April, that measure rose 1.1 percent. Atlanta, in contrast, was up 2 percent during April. Over the course of the year, Atlanta prices rose 13.7 percent.
Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reassigned the director of the bioterror lab behind the potential anthrax exposure of dozens of scientists and staff, according to a report in Atlanta Business Chronicle. Michael Farrell, head of the CDC’s Bioterror Rapid Response and Advanced Technology Laboratory, has been reassigned as the agency investigates the incident. As many as 84 employees at Atlanta’s CDC campus near Emory University were possibly exposed to anthrax.
