School bells will be ringing around Intown beginning on Aug. 4 when both Atlanta Public Schools (APS) and Decatur City Schools (DCS) resume classes for the 2014-15 academic year. If it seems super early, remember that classes in Rockdale County started today. In July!
APS (atlanta.k12.ga.us) will host districtwide open houses at all schools on Aug. 1. The times:
High School: 1-3 p.m.
Middle School: 3-5 p.m.
Elementary School: 5-7 p.m.
DCS will also be holding afternoon open houses and meet and greets on Aug. 1. See the website for a full schedule at csdecatur.net.
In Fulton County, school doesn’t start back until Aug. 11. Open House events will be held on Aug. 8. See the full schedule at fultonschools.org.
DeKalb County Schools resume on Aug. 11 as well. Open house events will be taking place over two days – Aug. 6-7. Find out more at dekalb.k12.ga.us.
