The Midtown Neighbors Association has voted down the Music Midtown 2014 event plan and application for Piedmont Park, according to the SaportaReport. The neighborhood association voted down the application at its board meeting on July 31 “due to safety, logistics, Piedmont Park wear/tear, and noise issues. Although it is unlikely the vote will prevent the concert event on Sept. 19-20 from taking place, the neighborhood hopes to address some of its concerns, including parking on neighborhood streets.

The first Ebola patient, Dr. Kent Brantly, being treated at Emory University Hospital is improving, according to a report from our media affiliate CBS46. The news comes just as a second person infected with Ebola is expected to arrive on Aug. 5. Nancy Whitebol, an American missionary will be transported from Liberia to Atlanta early Tuesday.
