Brookhaven Police have filed armed robbery charges against Jason Simmons for the July 22 armed robbery at the Subway on Peachtree Road at Colonial Drive.
Atlanta Police arrested Simmons July 31, after a witness who recognized Simmons from a previous armed robbery called.
Simmons is suspected of being involved in multiple armed robberies in Midtown, Buckhead and Brookhaven.
Simmons is currently being held in the Fulton County Detention Center.
According to police, Simmons returned to the Subway at 3145 Peachtree Road to use the bathroom. An employee recognized him and called police. Before officers arrived, the suspect left the Subway and was spotted walking into a CVS at 3221 Peachtree Road.
Officers entered the store and arrested Jason Simmons without incident. When patted down, an officer found an ice cream bar in Simmons’ pocket, which police said he had just shoplifted from CVS. The suspect admitted to the Subway robbery, along with several others in Zone 2 and Zone 5.
