Into the Beautiful North

The Atlanta History Center and Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System are teaming up to present The Big Read, a campaign to get adults (and kids) reading, sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.

This year’s book will be Luis Alberto Urrea’s Into the Beautiful North, and there will be related programs in September and October including a keynote address by the author on Sept. 17, 7p.m. at the Atlanta History Center.

In conjunction, younger readers are encouraged to participate in The Little Read with I Love Saturdays y domingos by Alma Flor Ada, while middle school ages can read Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan.
