Foreclosure notices in metro Atlanta were up slightly from August to September, but compared to previous years, the general trend continues to improve. According to a report released Monday morning by Kennesaw-based Equity Depot (via AJC) , the 13-county region saw 2,522 foreclosure notices in September, up from 2,350 last month. August’s foreclosure notices were 36 percent lower than during the same month of 2013.

MARTA is asking developers to submit ideas for developing air rights atop four rail stations – Arts Center, Lenox, Midtown and North Avenue. According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, MARTA is soliciting Project Vision Statements from local and national developers capable of developing the air rights at these stations into mixed-use projects. Similar projects have already been announced for the King Center and Edgewood/Candler Park stations.

The case of an Atlanta firefighter shot by an Atlanta Police officer keeps getting stranger, according to a report in Decaturish. According to police, at 8 p.m. on Sept. 7, APD responded to a call of someone pointing a gun at someone else on Clifford Avenue. Officer Kyle Henderson arrived at the scene started investigating. APD said the “situation escalated” and the officer shot the armed person once in the shoulder. The person was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition, APD says. The firefighter is Matthew Ross. He has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and reckless Conduct. Officers also arrested his wife, Holly Imlach, and have charged her with reckless conduct. Both have been taken to DeKalb County jail.
