Organizers couldn’t have asked for better weather as the 2014 AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5K Run took over Piedmont Park and the streets of Midtown Atlanta on Sunday. The 24th annual event is the largest HIV/AIDS-related fundraising event in the Southeast.
Opening ceremonies included comments by AID Atlanta CEO Jose Rodriguez-Diaz, 2014 Event Ambassador Hydeia Broadbent, WSB-TV senior anchor Jovita Moore and comedienne/actress and 2014 grand marshal Sandra Bernhard, fresh off a pair of AIDS Walk benefit shows the previous evening at The W-Midtown.
Event organizers set a fundraising goal of $1 million and the GA Voice will update the story as soon as that information is made available.
