Oakland Cemetery was named the 2014 Great Place winner by the Atlanta Regional Commission at their 16th annual Developments of Excellence Awards. “I am thrilled that for the third straight year, a City of Atlanta park has been honored by the Atlanta Regional Commission with a Development of Excellence Award,” said Amy Phuong, Commissioner, Department of Parks and Recreation.

Some Downtown residents are unhappy with the traffic and bottleneck around the MARTA Civic Center station due to the popularity of Megabus. With 20 to 30 buses a day dropping and picking up passengers, WSB reports that Megabus, MARTA and the city on a solution, which includes potentially moving the bus service to a different location.

The last week of the Atlanta Public Schools cheating trial have been dramatic, with a key prosecution witness being threatened about testifying against former superintendent Beverly Hall and a judge ruling that local media couldn’t report on it. The judge reversed that ruling yesterday. According to Fox 5, investigator Reginald Dukes received a voicemail from a caller who promised to “seek him out” if he testified against Hall.
