Decatur Police have identified the woman found shot to death in Downtown Decatur over the weekend as Karen Pearce, 44, of Smyrna. According to our media affiliate CBS46, witnesses found Pearce on the ground near the parking deck behind One Decatur Town Center in the 100 block of East Ponce de Leon Avenue around 11 p.m. on Saturday night.
Police said Pearce left Leon’s Full Service and was walking in an area adjacent to where her vehicle was parked.
Police are investigating but have not said if the woman was targeted or a victim of a random robbery. Pearce worked as a stylist at True Salon/Spa in Smyrna.
