A break in a 36 inch water main at South Columbia and Parkhill Drive in Decatur is causing low or no water pressure in the City of Decatur and Avondale Estates. It’s also forced the early dismissal of all Decatur City Schools.

According to city public information officer Casie Yoder, DeKalb County crews are on the scene of the break and it may take up to two days for repairs. Water customers in parts of Decatur, Avondale, Clarkston, Scottdale and parts of Atlanta and DeKalb might experience ongoing drops in water pressure while repairs are underway. There are no boil water advisories at this time.

Officials said Decatur City Schools would be back in session as usual on Friday, Jan. 16.
