A report from ApartmentList.com says that Dunwoody has the most expensive rent in the metro Atlanta ‘burbs.

According to the survey, Dunwoody’s rental rates average $1,100 for a one bedroom and $1,330 for two bedrooms. Dunwoody saw average rent for a one bedroom rise 6.5 percent and two bedrooms rise 5.8 percent from December 2013 to December 2014.

A two bedroom in the nearby city of Sandy Springs will average the same price as one in Atlanta – $1,060 – while a one bedroom is $100 less.

According to the report, Atlanta is the 21st most expensive major US city, with an average 2 bedroom price that’s 12 percent above the national average.

  1. And we seniors who have lived in Sandy Springs for many years are being forced out because we can’t afford the rent, even in the senior communities. All about greed anymore.
