It’s hard to believe that before I came to Atlanta I had never heard of a fried chicken biscuit, let alone eaten one. One day a friend suggested that we try Homegrown in Reynoldstown, and swore up and down that the comfy chicken biscuit would change my life. In reality, it has. I am not a breakfast food person — I’d sooner eat a slice of pizza or a burrito in the mornings — but now I have a brunch savior. The fried, crunchy, oftentimes spicy chicken atop a flaky and buttery biscuit has become my go-to breakfast food, and I’ve come to know a few spots that offer this on their regular menus. This month I set out to visit, try and photograph my favorite dishes from my regular spots. Here, I have listed my top 5 chicken biscuits.
