A second “suspicious device” was discovered duct-taped to a pedestrian bridge over railroad tracks in Hapeville on Tuesday, according to the AJC. It’s the same type of homemade camera crated for a Georgia State University art project that closed the Downtown Connector and caused traffic chaos on Feb. 2. Hapeville evacuated businesses and also brought out the bomb squad. Atlanta Police While GSU issued a formal apology for Monday’s even, the Atlanta Police have discussed filing criminal charges over the matter and seeking reimbursement. The university is working with officials to remove nearly 20 other cameras that have been placed around the city.

A groundbreaking was held this morning for Seventh Midtown, which will include 20 luxury condominiums and ground-floor retail space, at the end of the month. Located at 7th and Peachtree Streets, Lord Aeck Sargent designed the 9-story building, which will feature two and three bedroom condominiums from 1,800 to over 2,800 square feet. Atlanta Police need the public’s help in finding the burglar’s who made off with electronic equipment from the Church of the Apostles on Northside Drive. The incident occurred on Jan. 11 and the thief made off with an iPad and various camera equipment. There was no forced entry and the police believe the door to the church’s media room might have been left unlocked. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up $2,000 for information on the case.
