The proposed cities of LaVista Hills and Tucker have advanced through a subcommittee at the State Capitol this afternoon and will be heard by the full Governmental Affairs Committee on Wednesday, March 8, at 8 a.m. at a location to be announced. According to Decaturish, subcommittee member state Rep. Mary Margaret Oliver (D-Decatur) was the only “no” vote. Check back tomorrow for more updates on the cityhood initiatives.
Abattoir restaurant in the West Provision District will close after dinner service on March 28. “We have loved our seven-year run with our great team at Abattoir. We have been proud to present great food, a fabulous atmosphere and the talents of several notable chefs” said owner/operator Anne Quatrano. “It’s time we let another concept take over this awesome space as we work on the opening of our Fish Camp at Ponce City Market this Spring.” Many staff have already been slated for future roles in the upcoming W. H. Stiles Fish Camp, opening in Ponce City Market this spring and the opening of “a little restaurant downstairs at Bacchanalia” soon.
Fast-food drive-thru Checkers at the corner of 10th and Spring streets in Midtown has closed and will soon face the wrecking ball. According to Curbed Atlanta, The Hanover Co. will build a six-story, 332-unit apartment building on the site.
