Atlanta’s largest Whole Foods Market could come to the site of a planned mixed-use tower at the corner of 14th and West Peachtree streets in Midtown, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle. The 60,000 square foot store would anchor the The Related Group’s two-tower project, the first of which would have 400 residential units.
A Buckhead man was hit and killed by a train as he walked along the tracks near Lenox Park Boulevard and Roxboro Road, according to CBS46. Rick Harris, the Director of Corporate Communications for Norfolk Southern, said the conductor went into an emergency stop once he saw the man on the tracks. Harris said the conductor blew the train’s horn to alert the man, but added that the man never moved off the tracks. The man died at the scene, according to Harris.
The popular Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen at the corner of Boulevard and Ponce was damaged in a fire that broke out just before 7:30 a.m. this morning, according to a report from the AJC. The fire was contained to a storage area.
