Two Atlanta Watershed employees – William Spalding and Charles Edwards – were arrested at work following a two-year investigation, according to a report from 11 Alive. Authorities say the men were stealing city equipment, then selling it – making more than $60,000. The city’s Watershed Management Department has been troubled for years with allegations from corruption to theft and mismanagement.
Atlanta police Tuesday morning are investigating the shooting of a woman in the Old Fourth Ward, according to the AJC. The woman was shot in the back about 7 a.m. near the intersection of North Avenue and Parkway Drive. The victim’s name and condition were not immediately available.

Experts say that’s because routine HIV testing is not offered in the places where most people get their health care. By the time patients are diagnosed in Atlanta, almost one third have advanced to clinical AIDS.
