Krog Street Market in Inman Park has announced that a new retailer will be opening in Building A later this year. The Merchant will open a second Intown location offering a wide range of unique collections – from greeting cards, stationery and books to candles, bedding, tabletop décor and dinnerware. “We are so eager to join the tenants at Krog Street Market. We love when former INtown folks make good. Sydia Bell worked with the newspaper on the “SCAD Takeover Edition” back in the summer of 2011 when she was getting her MFA from the Savannah College of Art & Design. She went on to become an occasional contributing writer for us. Bell has quietly and slowly been building her own creative firm, Sawubona, Boo. The start-up focuses on forging authentic partnerships and collaborations through creative exploration. “I have created a series of events, workshops and curated resources that provide individuals with inspiration and, most importantly, the tools needed on their burgeoning creative journeys,” Bell said. The first workshop, “Blossoming with Ideas” is April 26 from 2-6 p.m. at co-working space, Foster ATL. Attendees will be under the guidance of professional crafter Mia Selph as they create their own paper flower bouquets. Following the craft session they will enjoy a curated Mediterranean-inspired meal by Talia Witherspoon from holistic beauty brand The Sassy Nation and have a headshot taken by photographer Yancey Smith. In addition, there will be two mini-presentations from local “creativepreneurs” — Wintter Alex from styling firm She x PLRG and Priscilla Parker of online jewelry boutique Slate + Co.
