Media mogul Ted Turner might be getting part of Downtown street renamed in his honor. Councilman C.T. Martin introduced the legislation last week and it’s being considered by the city’s utilities committee before going to to the full council for a vote.
If successful, Spring Street from Whitehall to West Peachtree would become Ted Turner Drive.
With Turner Field slated for possible demolition after the Braves move to Cobb County in 2017, the street would be a lasting reminder of his contributions to the city. And it also happens to pass right by an outpost of his restaurant, Ted’s Montana Grill.
