The second and final phase of the 10th Street Cycle Track is under way, according to an update from the Midtown Alliance. Construction on the bicycle lanes began May 4 and is expected to be completed later this summer.
The city-funded project will see the two-way cycle track extended along the northernmost lane of 10th Street between Charles Allen Drive and Myrtle Street; shared lane markings to and across Piedmont Avenue to the existing 10th Street shared lanes; a new pedestrian/bicyclist-activated crosswalk flashing beacon at Myrtle Street; and new bulbouts with bike parking and a bike maintenance facility.
Crews have also been working on sidewalk repairs around Midtown since last November. Repair work completed to-date includes: 30 locations on Peachtree from Ponce de Leon to Pershing Point Park; a section of Spring Street just north of 10th; Peachtree Walk between 11th and 13th Streets; sections on Crescent Avenue at Margaret Mitchell House; Juniper Street near Hyatt Midtown Hotel; and 11th Street between West Peachtree and Peachtree Walk. Crews will move next to other areas on West Peachtree and Spring Street.
