police-siren1One of the biggest increases in crime in Atlanta during the first four months of this year is Midtown, according to a report from 11Alive.

The Atlanta Police Department’s records show that in the first four months of 2015, compared with the same period in 2014, some of the biggest increases in the city’s crimes were in Police Zone Five, which includes Midtown. There were 106 aggravated assaults (an increase of 56 percent) and 61 residential burglaries (an increase of 33 percent).

The burglaries, assaults and robberies in Midtown  have occurred at all times of the day and night.

Another hotspot: Zone Six, which includes Little Five Points, Grant Park, East Atlanta, has seen 251 auto thefts so far this year, a 49 percent increase.
