We asked pets to send in photos with their owners and, despite their lack of thumbs, the response was overwhelming. You might want to change your passwords, humans. Dogs, cats, chickens and possums are all part of this year’s annual pictorial.
Also in this issue, we have an exclusive set of photos of the historic Atlanta Dairies property on Memorial Drive that will soon be transformed into a mixed-use entertainment complex by the developers of Krog Street Market. Speaking of Krog Street Market, our intrepid food critic braved the crowds at Superica to try Chef Ford Fry’s Tex-Mex concept. We also have a feature on the luxury apartment boom under way in downtown Decatur.
School bells will be ringing in August, but there is still plenty of fun to be had with upcoming events and festivals like the Piedmont Park Arts Festival, Grant Park Summer Shade Festival and DragonCon. Atlanta’s favorite cover band, Yacht Rock Revue, will also be jamming with some special guests at the Yacht Rock Revival in Piedmont Park.
This month we also welcome a new columnist, Sally Bethea. The founder and former Chattahoochee Riverkeeper will be writing about water and the environment for our Go Green section on a regular basis.
