All day on Labor Day, Sept. 7, MARTA is inviting everyone to ride its trains, buses and Mobility service at no charge – that’s right, free. Free Ride is the second ridership initiative introduced by MARTA in recent weeks. The Customer Rewards Program, which allows customers to earn free, round-trip Breeze tickets based on the number of trips they take during a 30-day promotional period, was introduced earlier in August. LifeLine Animal Project is offering free pet adoptions throughout September of all dogs, puppies, cats and kittens at the DeKalb County Animal Services (DCAS) and Fulton County Animal Services (FCAS) shelters. An influx of animals during August (more than 1,400), LifeLIne says the public is urgently needed to step forward and adopt a pet. All September, adopters will receive a dog or cat that has been spayed or neutered, has had all vaccines and is microchipped – a $250 value – for free.
