MARTA yesterday named the developers for its upcoming transit-oriented projects at the Brookhaven/Oglethorpe and Chamblee stations on the Gold Line. Construction at Brookhaven is slated to start in summer 2017.
Brookhaven City Center Partners was selected as the developer for the Brookhaven station area at Peachtree Street and Dresden Drive. The three-phase, mixed-use project will begin with 330 apartments, more than 25,000 square feet of retail space and 117,000 square feet of office space, according to a MARTA press release. Future phases could include senior housing, civic spaces and a hotel, according to MARTA.
Brookhaven City Center Partners is a teaming of Integral and Transwestern Development Company. Integral is also on the team undertaking the massive redevelopment of the former GM plant in Doraville.
The Chamblee Station project, in downtown Chamblee, is slated to start next summer and could include retail and office space, along with a park.
MARTA will now begin negotiations with the developers about project details.
