More than 6,000 volunteers are expected to fan out across the city on Oct. 3 to tackle more than 100 service projects as part of Hands On Atlanta Day 2015. Volunteers of all ages are still needed for the event, which will carry on rain or shine from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Some of the projects for this 25th anniversary Hands On Atlanta Day include planting gardens, small repairs, painting murals and creating outdoor classrooms at local parks, schools and nonprofit organizations.

Mercedes Benz will host this year’s Celebration of Service at ZOO Atlanta with food, live entertainment, and a special day at the Zoo, which will be closed to the public and only open for Hands on Atlanta Day volunteers.

  1. I have students including myself signing up as a group to volunteer for the Hands On Atlanta Day event at Continental Colony Elem. School on Sat. Oct. 3, 2015. Some of my students have commented that they were unable to sign up at the website address due to some technical issues going on with the website that you provided, so they signed up with me at our school. So far as of today Friday, Oct. 02, 2015 I have 12 students signed up.

Thank you Hands On Atlanta for all the work you do. And by the way, I was with Hands On Atlanta Americorp for 2 years.
