The Atlanta Fulton County Recreation Authority formally began the bidding process for Turner Field today, according to a report from the AJC. The request for proposals calls for renovating, reusing or re-purposing the stadium structure; creating a mixed-use destination; finishing the development in five years; incorporating recommendations from the Livable Centers Initiative community development study; and incorporating landmarks on the site like structures remaining from the 1996 Olympics. The deadline for proposals is Nov. 20. The Braves will vacate The Ted at the end of 2016 ahead of the move to the new stadium in Cobb County.

Decatur Police are investigating 68 vehicle break-ins that occurred overnight at three different parking decks around downtown, according to a report at Decaturish. Cars at the Marriott hotel deck and decks at 315 and 335 West Ponce de Leon Avenue were also hit and a Jeep Cherokee stolen.

Curbed Atlanta has the plans created by Grant Park resident and real estate agent Rob Smith to cap I-20 with a long linear park to restore the neighborhood divided by the interstate. It’s a pretty nifty set of plans, including reconnecting streets and an amphitheater. Not included: a cost estimate.
