“Beyond Measure,” a film by the director of “Race to Nowhere” about new models of education, will be shown by North Atlanta Parents for Public Schools on Weds., Oct. 21, 7 p.m. at the North Atlanta High School auditorium in Buckhead. A discussion will follow the screening.
The film is a follow-up to director Vicki Abeles’ popular and controversial 2009 documentary “Race to Nowhere,” which criticized American schools’ focus on what it described as over-testing and over-scheduling of children. A companion book for “Beyond Measure” was recently published.
The NAPPS screening of the film is open to area parents, students, educators and legislators. Admission is free, but seating is reserved. For more information, see www.tinyurl.com/o6ccay8.
