A 24-year-old man is in surgery after being shot early this morning at Morgan Falls Billiards Bar in Sandy Springs, police say.
Nickolas McCoy was shot twice shortly after 2 a.m. by 34-year-old Adam Pina, of Acworth, Sgt. Ron Momon, a spokesman for Sandy Springs police, said in a press release.
McCoy and Pina fought inside the billiard hall, which is located at 7875 Roswell Road. They both fell to the ground and Pina pulled out a small caliber pistol and shot McCoy twice in the chest, Momon wrote.
The police report shows three witnesses told police that Pina knocked McCoy to the ground and shot him twice before leaving the building.
McCoy was transported to North Fulton Hospital, where he was taken into surgery. Pina fled the area, but returned a short time later to Sandy Springs Police Headquarters to tell his side of the story, Momon wrote in the release.
Detectives interviewed Pina and he admitted to shooting McCoy twice in the chest, Momon wrote.
Pina was then charged with battery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and he was taken to the Fulton County Jail.
