Newell Rubbermaid, the Sandy Springs-based consumer products corporation, has cut a $15 billion deal to buy a rival company and change its name to Newell Brands, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The still-to-be-approved acquisition of Florida-based Jarden Corp. would put an even larger list of popular brands in Newell’s portfolio, including Elmer’s glue, Yankee Candle, Mr. Coffee and Sharpie and Paper Mate pens, among many others.
Newell Rubbermaid is headquartered on Glenlake Parkway and is in the process of moving across Ga. 400 to a Peachtree-Dunwoody Road office building.
