Editor’s Note: Over the past year, we’ve published photographs that showed residents of Brookhaven, Buckhead, Dunwoody and Sandy Springs engaged in a variety of serious and not-so-serious pursuits. Here are some of our favorite cover photos that appeared in our various editions during 2015. All photos by Phil Mosier.
Olivia Whitake, 10, takes delight in getting a close look at a “Julia Longwing” while attending the annual Butterfly Festival at the Dunwoody Nature Center on Aug. 15.

Mel Mobley, Vann McNeill, center, and his children Seema, 1, and Ravi, 2, right, pour their neighborhood’s soil into a planter at the request of Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul, at a ceremony to unveil “City Springs” on Sept. 20.
Morgan O’Keefe, 11, left, and Kerston Moss, 8, feed ducks during a warm, spring day at Murphey Candler Park in Brookhaven on April 11.
From left, Jake Yamada, Brady Huesken, Charlie Suddath, Pearson Powell and Witt Grebe, members of the Northside Youth Organization baseball team “Giants,” get ready for practice at Chastain Park in Buckhead on Feb. 28.
Dorian Cooper, left, president of Epsilon Iota Psi Sorority, leads a team of dancers during the sorority’s “Stroll-Off” at Brookhaven’s Oglethorpe University on Feb. 27. The stroll, also known as a performance, was to support Kame Jo Thomas, the sorority’s faculty advisor, who needs a kidney transplant.
Ruthie Williams, 3, left, and her friend Anna Harding, 3, dance to the music of “The Return,” a Beatles tribute band performing at Heritage Green in Sandy Springs on Aug. 2. The show was part of the annual Concert by the Springs series.

Photographer Phil Mosier picks a favorite photo of 2015
Phil Mosier teaches photography at Georgia Perimeter College and takes many of the photos that appear in the pages of Reporter Newspapers. Phil identified this picture of Sophia Wetherbee holding a chicken during an event at the Atlanta History Center, as one of his favorites from 2015
“I enjoy taking pictures in as many events in our community as I possibly can,” Phil said. “I try to capture moments that will make viewers respond to beauty, integrity and spirit that illuminates peoples’ lives in our neighborhoods.”
