According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the station began broadcasting on Jan. 1 with a playlist of bands like Coldplay, Mumford & Sons, Bastille, Elle King, The 1976 and Beck. 99X originally launched in 1992, but was replaced by its owner Cumulus Media in 2012 with a hard rock station.

Decatur’s new Waffle House location will officially open Jan. 6 a spokesperson for the company says. According to Decaturish, the restaurant will be located beneath Eddie’s Attic on the downtown square.

MARTA will host a series of community meetings beginning tonight, Jan. 4, to discuss fares, service modifications, Breeze cards and more. Tonight’s meeting will be at MARTA headquarters, 2424 Piedmont Road. On Jan. 5, a meeting will be held in Jonesboro at the Clayton County Library, 865 Battle Creek Road, and on Jan. 7 in Decatur at the Maloof Auditorium, 1300 Commerce Drive. All three meetings begin at 7 p.m.
