The Murphey Candler Park Conservancy plans its first park cleanup of the year on Sunday, Feb. 7, starting at 1 p.m.

Volunteers will help clean the gravel parking lot on Candler Lake East, around the caretakers house driveway, the organization said in an email. Volunteers will be needed to remove ivy and privet, limbs and garbage. Some volunteers will work from boats.

Baseball and softball players and their families are being encouraged to pick up trash in parking lots and around fields and practice areas.

Other cleanups are scheduled in March, June and September.
