After more than four years of restoration, Ponce City Market is set to unveil its final a phase – The Roof. One of the building’s original freight elevators will whisk visitors to the rooftop where they will find an 18-hole miniature golf course, boardwalk-style games, a slide built into the iconic marquee facing North Avenue and food vendors.
Officially opening to the public mid-2016, The Roof at Ponce City Market pays homage to the Ponce de Leon amusement park, often referred to as the “Coney Island of the South,” which was originally built on the site where the mixed-use development currently resides.
In partnership with the Kyle Korver Foundation, Plywood People and the Jamestown Charitable Foundation, Ponce City Market will host Putt! Putt! Putt!, an interactive miniature golf tournament on The Roof, on Sunday, April 3, from 4 to 10 p.m.
Putt! Putt! Putt! marks the first event hosted on the property’s rooftop and will center around a tournament on the challenging 18-hole miniature golf course. Competing guests will have the opportunity to try their strokes as a team or with local celebrities including players from the Atlanta Hawks team, Kyle Korver, AL Horford, Kent Bazemore, Coach Budenholzer and tournament emcee Tripp Crosby of “Tripp & Tyler,” among others being added daily.
There will be drinks from City Winery and Monday Night Brewing, bites from Chef Linton Hopkins of Hop’s Chicken and H&F Burger and live music.
Tickets for Putt! Putt! Putt! are tiered and are on sale today, March 1. The first tier is $33 per ticket and includes snacks, two beverages, access to the concert and sideline views of the miniature golf tournament. The second tier is $333 for a team of three players and includes admission into the mini golf tournament and many more valuable perks. The third tier is $3,333 for a team of three players and includes admission into the mini golf tournament alongside a celebrity teammate during the tournament’s celebrity round. Event guests are also invited to purchase additional activity tickets to enjoy access to the slide and amusement games. Tickets and can be purchased at putt-putt-putt.com. Proceeds will support 18 local charities in Atlanta helping meet needs in the community.
Putt! Putt! Putt! is presented by the Kyle Korver Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Atlanta Hawks player Kyle Korver with a mission to end the poverty cycle; Plywood People, an Atlanta-based non-profit organization pioneering a group of start-up businesses and charities aimed at bettering the local community and its people; and the Jamestown Charitable Foundation, an initiative of Ponce City Market owner and developer Jamestown to support charitable organizations within the communities across its portfolio.
