Police have located the missing vehicle of a woman who was found shot to death and unclothed at an Atlanta park on May 31, according to a report from CBS46. The body of 19 year-old Bridget Shiel was found with multiple gunshot wounds to her back, torso and buttocks at Oakland City Park in southwest Atlanta just before 7 a.m. Her vehicle, a red 2009 Ford Fusion, was found behind a strip mall in Stone Mountain early Wednesday morning. Police do not have any suspects in custody and believe that Shiel was shot elsewhere before her body was dumped in the park.
The Midtown Alliance is encouraging residents and those who spend time in the district to take an online survey on a range of topics, from shopping and transportation to public safety and public spaces. The survey will be up from today, June 1, to July 15. The survey can be found at MidtownATL.com/Survey. Respondents take different versions of the survey based on their relationship to Midtown as residents, workers, both residents and workers, or visitors. Findings will help inform strategies and priorities on a variety of Midtown Alliance and Midtown Improvement District programs and projects.
The Atlanta Regional Commission has unveiled an ambitious plan for creating a regional network of bike and pedestrian trails, according to SaportaReport. About 152 miles of trails exist, and about 70 miles of gaps separate the trails.
