MARTA’s Five Points station in Downtown might be getting a soccer field. According to Creative Loafing, the transit agency is partnering with Soccer in the Streets, a nonprofit that works to connect youth with the game, to build a pitch in the station’s empty westside plaza. The field would be roughly 66 feet wide and 99 feet long. With soccer fever at an all time high in the city with Atlanta United coming next year, the pitch might become a new destination for youth and those who want a five-on-five game during their lunch break.
