Atlanta police are seeking help from the public in finding the shooter who killed a young woman outside a Buckhead bar two months ago.
The police department released Sept. 28 surveillance video showing a crowd of people running for cover during an apparent shootout July 23 outside Anchor Down Bar and Grille on Piedmont Road. Taylor Haden, 25, who was visiting from Texas, was killed in what is believed to be cross fire, according to police.
“We’re asking that anyone who was there to come forward,” said Lt. Charles Hampton at a press conference. “We are trying to bring some closure to the family.”
The reward for information is now $5,000, including $2,000 from the Buckhead Coalition, a civic organization.
An altercation between people in a black Audi and a white SUV, an Escalade or Tahoe, happened in the bar’s parking lot, according to the surveillance video, Hampton said. As the people in those vehicles exchanged gunfire, Hayden was struck and killed. She was not the target, he said.
The police department also released a video of Hayden speaking about her father.
Anyone with information in this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS or 404-577-8477, text information to 274637 or visit crimestoppersatlanta.org. Anyone providing information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for this crime is eligible for the cash reward.
