Piedmont Hospital has released a new illustration of its planned new patient tower at its flagship campus on Peachtree Road in Buckhead.

The hospital plans to start work on the $630 million project in January, pending state approval of its “certificate of need” application. The hospital released the image in conjunction with an announcement that it has many contractors ready to begin the work.

The tower would be built in phases over a decade, with the first part opening in September 2020, the hospital says.
