The Atlanta Police Department has announced that a reward of $25,000 to help identify the burglar who shot an killed a resident at an upscale East Atlanta Village apartment complex on Oct. 31. Alex Newtown was shot and killed after he confronted a burglar in his apartment at Alexan EAV on Halloween afternoon.
According to the police report, Newton had been shot multiple times and was deceased on the scene. Witnesses stated that the victim came home and found his front door kicked in. When he entered the apartment, he encountered the intruder, and got into a physical altercation with him. During the fight the victim was shot, and fell to the floor. The intruder fled the scene. Police believe the man seen in the surveillance video below is their subject.
