Police say two men, one armed with a black handgun and the other armed with a knife and metal pipe, broke into a woman’s apartment in the Dunwoody Glen apartments on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard through an unlocked window at about 6:30 a.m. while she was walking her children to their bus stop.

When she returned, the men tackled her, punched her in the face and hit her in the head with the handgun while demanding money. She was able to escape by fighting off the men. The two suspects then removed a large safe containing the woman’s valuables and escaped on foot.

The first suspect is described as being between 17-25 years old, about 6-feet tall, having a thin build and wearing sweat pants with a star pattern below the knee. He was also wearing a long-sleeve sweat shirt, gray mask, gloves and boots, police said. He was armed with a small black gun.

The second suspect is also described as being between 17 and 25, about 5-foot 8-inches tall, weighing betwen 150 and 170 pounds. He was wearing a black or gray sweater, khaki pants and gloves and was armed with a small knife and metal pipe.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Det. Jesus Maldonado at 678-382-6914 or at Jesus.Maldonado@dunwoodyga.gov.
