Atlanta police arrested the man suspected of shooting at another car during an apparent road rage incident in Buckhead last month.

Tyrell Roach of Stone Mountain turned himself into police on Nov. 25 after an arrest warrant was issued Nov. 17. Roach is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is being held at the Fulton County Jail.

According to police, Roach is suspected of shooting at a vehicle on Ga. 400 southbound near the Loridans Drive overpass, where toll booths were removed two years ago. The victim told police he had dropped his girlfriend off at Northside Hospital and was waiting for a red light to change to turn left. At the light, the victim said he changed the radio station and the light turned green. He said a man in a silver 2012 Altima passed him while honking his horn and glared at him, according to a police report.

The victim said he continued to drive and as traffic became heavy, he passed the man in the Altima. “He looked at me again and withing maybe two seconds I began feeling gunshots hit my girlfriend’s car,” the victim told police. “I sped off on the shoulder as he continued chase.”

The victim evaded the man in the Altima and was able to get the license number and then called police.

Police recovered a bullet from inside the trunk of the victim’s vehicle and there was a bullet hole in the trunk of the vehicle and another bullet hole on the passenger side rear panel, according to police.
