The DeKalb County DeKalb Commission voted 5-0 to approve a resolution on Aug. 1 that could delay Emory University’s annexation into the City of Atlanta. According to the AJC, the Atlanta City Council is expected to vote on the issue Sept. 5. The resolution invokes a state law that requires arbitration when a county government objects to an annexation.

Local developers Pellerin Real Estate and Clark Property R+D have presented revisions to their plan to transform the Harp Transmission building on Memorial Drive (next door to Oakland Cemetery and behind the King Memorial MARTA station) after concerns raised by the community. According to Curbed Atlanta, the latest iteration, would decrease the development’s square footage from 43,000 to 34,500 square feet, incorporate public restrooms and other amenities on the first floor, a developer contribution of $100,000 toward the creation of an adjacent park, and 40 off-street parking spaces at nearby lots or  underground.
