The lineup for Music Midtown, which returns to Piedmont Park on Sept. 15 and 16, includes Kendrick Lamar, Imagine Dragons, Post Malone, Fall Out Boy, Khalid, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Gucci Mane, Kacey Musgraves, First Aid Kit, Foster the People and Janelle Monae are some of the big names this year. The Decatur Book Festival, which will be held Labor Day weekend, has announced that award-winning stage and film director Kenny Leon will be this year’s keynote speaker on Friday, Aug. 31. Leon is releasing a memoir, “Take You Wherever You Go.” The “kidnote” event will feature young adult authors Becky Albertalli, Laurel Snyder, and Nic Stone, talking about how “Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone” changed the literary landscape for both readers and writers as the book celebrates its 20th anniversary.
