The public can now inspect the city’s finances thanks to a new web portal unveiled this morning by Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.

Open Checkbook allows the public to monitor government spending and creates more transparency for the city, Bottoms said. City finances can now be tracked by vendor, department and time period.

Records from January 2017 forward are already searchable and the database will be updated quarterly. Previous year’s finances will also be gradually added to the site.
