The Atlanta Police Department are encouraging customers to check for skimming devices before inserting their debit or credit card in local ATMs. A skimming device was found attached to an ATM inside a store at 265 Peachtree Center Ave. in Downtown. Investigators recovered the device, but noticed it had the number 4 written on it, which suggests the possibility other skimmer like this are being used. APD encourages ATM users to check the slot to see if anything looks suspicious before inserting their card and to monitor bank and credit card accounts frequently for suspicious activity.
