Every Day, a fresh food market specializing in local products, is now open at 670 Highland Ave. in Old Fourth Ward. The market, which is open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., is located opposite Highland Walk apartments and Highland Bakery. The shop stocks wine, meats, cheeses and other necessities. Downtown’s Atlanta Marriott Marquis is completing renovations to its in-house restaurant, Sear, with plans to reopen the doors in late December after the Christmas holiday.  The redesign will have a more “steakhouse atmosphere” and the menu will incorporate ingredients from local Georgia and Alabama farms. There will also be signature craft cocktails and a specialty bourbon bar offering more than 20 unique and local bourbon selections.

Docent Coffee

Docent Coffee is now open at 381 Edgewood Ave. in Old Fourth Ward, combining its existing open-roastery space with a new café open for breakfast and lunch serving fresh croissants, homemade sandwiches, soups and toasts. Docent offers monthly and yearly coffee memberships for unlimited, free regular-sized drinks (coffee, espresso, lattes, tea, etc.), as well as discounts on Docent merchandise, bags of coffee, and special off-site events. An eater and bar called Likewise will become the centerpiece for Citizen Supply, the weekend pop-up flea market and greenhouse on the second floor of Ponce City Market. Fifth Group Restaurants has opened Ecco Buckhead at 3586 Peachtree Road near Phipps Plaza. Occupying a freestanding, 9,500 square foot building and a chef-driven European menu, the restaurant is open for dinner nightly with lunch service coming soon. Ammazza Pizzeria

Canopy Atlanta Midtown hotel is expected to open its in-house restaurant, Xhibit Studio Kitchen & Bar, this month. The menu of locally-sourced meat and produce will create entrees that rotate often under the watch of Chef Christian Messier.

New York-based Mamoun’s Falafel will enter the Atlanta market with six locations, including the West Midtown Center development at 17th and Northside Drive. The Middle Eastern, fast-casual concept is expected to open early next year.
