A man riding an electric scooter was hit and injured by a car in Buckhead on Aug. 8,  according to a report from the Atlanta Police Department.

The accident occurred around 6:45 p.m. on Thursday in the 1800 block of Peachtree Road. The rider of the scooter complained of back pain following the incident.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and was cooperative, but found not to be at fault. The e-scooter operator was cited for causing the accident and transported to Grady Hospital for observation.

The accident comes in the wake of four e-scooter deaths this year and the imposing of a nighttime ban by the city on riding rentable dockless scooters and bikes between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. that began today.
