Fulton County released complete numbers after 2 a.m., although they are still unofficial. The county expects to certify the election results on Monday, Nov. 8, according to Elections Director Richard Barron.
Rusty Paul is expected to serve a third term as mayor.

The Sandy Springs City Council races were dominated by the four incumbents of Districts 1, 4, 5 and 6.
It was still a tight race in District 2 with Melody Kelley and Linda Trickey separated by only 25 votes with 60% of precincts reporting as of 1 a.m. And in District 3, Melissa Mular has the lead with more than 50% of the votes, with almost 82% of precincts reporting at this time.

For the Brookhaven City Council, District 2 incumbent John Park led his challenger Katie Dunagan with 64.4% of the vote. For District 4, John Funny won 80% of the votes.

12:30 a.m. – Sandy Springs
Fulton County is still counting votes, with the latest update just after midnight.
Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul is still in the lead, with almost 70% of the votes counted, with 81% of precincts complete.
The Sandy Springs City Council incumbents continue to lead their challengers.
11:15 p.m. – Sandy Springs
With 81% of precincts reporting, Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul has almost 70% of the more than 15,000 votes. His challenger Dontaye Carter had 4,616 votes around 11 p.m., or 30.54% of votes. Thirty of the 37 Sandy Springs precincts are complete. These are still unofficial results.
Just after 10:30 p.m., Paul said he was watching the World Series, hoping for a “double win, the Braves and the Pauls. We’re up seven nothing in the seventh inning right now, so it’d be a great celebration for Atlanta and Sandy Springs.”
Paul was also encouraged by the positive response to the TSPLOST vote, with 62.49% of voters in support of the tax renewal as of 11 p.m.
“We’ve got some major projects that we want to get done,” Paul said, including the widening of Hammond Drive. “We want to use funds to really make a difference in mobility … We’ll continue to try and ease the congestion challenges that that we face, our community and everywhere else.”

DeKalb County released another update around 10:45 p.m. These are still unofficial results.
In the Brookhaven City Council District 2 race, incumbent John Park leads with about 64.4% of votes. Challenger Katie Dunagan has 35.2% of votes.
In the Brookhaven City Council District 4 race, candidate Dale Boone has about 20.4% of the vote, while John Funny has about 79.2%.
In the Dunwoody City Council District 1 race, candidate Catherine Lautenbacher leads with about 53.6% of the vote. Terry Nall has about 46.2%.
In the Dunwoody City Council District 2 race, challenger Rob Price leads with about 58.2% of the vote, while incumbent Jim Riticher has about 41.4%.

In the Brookhaven City Council District 2 race, incumbent John Park leads with about 68.1% of votes. Challenger Katie Dunagan has 31.5% of votes.
In the Brookhaven City Council District 4 race, candidate Dale Boone has about 17.9% of the vote, while John Funny has about 81.5%.
In the Dunwoody City Council District 1 race, candidate Catherine Lautenbacher leads with about 55% of the vote. Terry Nall has about 44.7%.
In the Dunwoody City Council District 2 race, challenger Rob Price leads with about 58.3% of the vote, while incumbent Jim Riticher has about 41.4%.
In the Dunwoody City Council District 3 race, incumbent Tom Lambert has about 68.4% of the vote, while challenger Brian Sims has about 31%.

With a majority of precincts reporting, the Sandy Springs City Council incumbents are taking a lead over their challengers. These are unofficial results as of 10 p.m.
In Sandy Springs District 6, 100% of the precincts have reported with incumbent Andy Bauman leading with 61.76% of votes.
10:11 p.m. – Sandy Springs
With 70.27% of precincts reporting, Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul is taking a big lead over challenger Dontaye Carter with 69.92% of the 14,189 votes. These are unofficial results as of 10 p.m.
10:06 p.m. – Brookhaven, Dunwoody
DeKalb County has released another election results update.
In the Brookhaven City Council District 2 race, incumbent John Park leads with about 68.1% of votes. Challenger Katie Dunagan has 31.4% of votes.
In the Brookhaven City Council District 4 race, candidate Dale Boone has about 13.1% of the vote, while John Funny has about 86.4%.
In the Dunwoody City Council District 1 race, candidate Catherine Lautenbacher leads with about 54.9% of the vote. Terry Nall has about 44.8%.

In the Dunwoody City Council District 1 race, candidate Catherine Lautenbacher leads with about 56.4% of the vote. Terry Nall has about 45.4%.
In the Dunwoody City Council District 2 race, challenger Rob Price leads with about 59.2% of the vote, while incumbent Jim Riticher has about 40.6%.
In the Dunwoody City Council District 3 race, incumbent Tom Lambert has about 68.7% of the vote, while challenger Brian Sims has about 30.7%
9:36 p.m. – Sandy Springs
The first vote counts reported in Fulton County show the education and transportation local option sales taxes are showing strong support.
The ESPLOST, which will generate revenue for the Fulton County and Atlanta Public school systems, had 44,279 votes (69.16%) voting yes and 19,742 (30.84%) voting no.
TSPLOST, which benefits Sandy Springs and 12 other municipalities in Fulton County (but not Atlanta, which has its own tax), had 24,511 votes (62.14%) in support. Another 14,935 (37.86%) voted against the tax in the early, unofficial results.
9:32 p.m. – Brookhaven, Dunwoody
DeKalb County has released another election results update.
In the Brookhaven City Council District 2 race, incumbent John Park leads with about 69% of votes. Challenger Katie Dunagan has 30.5% of votes.
In the Brookhaven City Council District 4 race, candidate Dale Boone has about 13.8% of the vote, while John Funny has about 85.5%.
In the Dunwoody City Council District 1 race, candidate Catherine Lautenbacher leads with about 55.9% of the vote. Terry Nall has about 43.9%.
In the Dunwoody City Council District 2 race, challenger Rob Price leads with about 61.6% of the vote, while incumbent Jim Riticher has about 38.2%.
In the Dunwoody City Council District 3 race, incumbent Tom Lambert has about 66.1% of the vote, while challenger Brian Sims has about 33.2%.
9:20 p.m. – Sandy Springs
The first results are in from Fulton County. So far, 72,969 votes have been counted across the county, or 9.25% of all registered voters. These are still unofficial results. Only early and absentee ballots have been counted.
Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul is taking an early lead over challenger Dontaye Carter, with 69.63% of the 8,863 votes counted as of 9:10 p.m.
District 1 City Councilmember John Paulson is leading Megan Harris with 61.64% of the 1,319 votes tallied so far.
In District 2, Linda Trickey is ahead of Melody Kelley with 50.32% of the 1,111 votes counted. Current Councilmember Steve Soteres did not seek re-election.
For District 3, Melissa Mular is leading the pack with 50.07% of the 2,299 votes. Leslie Mullis has 34.45% of the votes and Eric Newberg has 15.48%. The three candidates are seeking to fill the District 3 seat that will be vacated by outgoing Councilmember Chris Burnett.
District 4 City Councilmember Jody Reichel is leading her three challengers with 53.22% of the 1,212 votes. Tochie Blad has 19.55%. Vern Graham has 10.4% and Michelle Sullivan, 16.83%.
In District 5, incumbent Tibby DeJulio has 70.34% of the 1,153 votes. His challenger Colin Hubbard has 342 votes, or 29.66%.
And in District 6, incumbent Andy Bauman is leading Jeff Howe, with 64.65% of the 1,567 votes.
9:00 p.m. – Sandy Springs

8:45 p.m. – Sandy Springs
Fulton County has yet to release any election results.
But during an 8 p.m. update, Fulton County Elections Director Richard Barron said voter turnout out had been light, but steady throughout the day.
Barron said he was hopeful vote tabulation would be 90% to 100% complete by 11 p.m. for the precincts outside of Atlanta. He said the election would be certified on Nov. 8 and dates for early voting in the likely runoff will be announced.
Fulton County is under performance review by the state, which is considering taking over the county’s elections following sweeping changes in the state’s voting ushered in by Republicans following former President Donald Trump’s loss to Biden in Georgia.
Barron said despite the narrative being spun by some state officials, Fulton County had “good elections” today and during last year’s presidential showdown.
Fulton County Commission Chairman Robb Pitts said he visited 25 precincts across the county today and never saw any long lines. He said issues at some polling places were minor and didn’t disrupt the election process. “There is no such thing as a perfect election, but we’re doing everything we can to make it a pleasant experience and to make sure every vote will be counted,” Pitts said.
County Election Chair Cathy Woolard described it as a “great day in Fulton County with the election.” Woolard said she watched the action at the voting call center and found it “both enlightening and reaffirming that we have a great operation here.”
8:37 p.m. – Brookhaven, Dunwoody
Voting results are beginning to roll in for both the Brookhaven and Dunwoody City Council seats.
DeKalb County has released partial election results for absentee-by-mail votes. For the District 2 seat in Brookhaven, 92 absentee ballots have been counted. About 23% of those votes are for Katie Dunagan, while about 76% are for incumbent John Park.
For the District 4 seat in Brookhaven, 83 absentee ballots have been counted. About 13.3% of those votes are for candidate Dale Boone, and about 86.8% are for John Funny.
For the District 1 seat in Dunwoody, 138 absentee ballots have been counted. Candidate Catherine Lautenbacher leads with about 56.5% of votes, while candidate Terry Nall has about 43.5%.
For Dunwoody’s District 2 seat, 150 absentee ballots have been counted. Challenger Rob Price leads with about 52.7% of those votes, while incumbent Jim Riticher has 46%. Two of the absentee ballots were write-in candidates.
For Dunwoody’s District 3 seat, 184 absentee ballots have been counted. Incumbent Tom Lambert leads with 72.3% of votes, while challenger Brian Sims has about 26.1%. Three absentee ballots were write-in candidates.
7:20 p.m. – Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Brookhaven
Voting locations in Sandy Springs, Dunwoody and Brookhaven closed at 7 p.m.
Stay tuned as Fulton and DeKalb counties have yet to release any results.
“I told everybody I dressed either for a party or funeral,” Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul, who is vying for re-election, said about 7 p.m. as the Nov. 2 city council meeting ended. “I’ll find out later which one it is.”
6:00 p.m. – Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Brookhaven
Residents have one more hour to vote.
Polling locations close at 7 p.m. in both Fulton and DeKalb counties, except for the precincts in the city of Atlanta, which stay open until 8 p.m.
Fulton County is reporting that all of its precincts have a wait time of less than 30 minutes as of 6 p.m.

2:25 p.m. – Sandy Springs
North Springs High School in Sandy Springs was one of just two polling locations in Fulton County that had issues with its voting machines, said Elections Director Richard Barron at a 2 p.m. press conference.
“This is related to a poll technician issue,” he said. “The managers followed proper procedures, allowed voters to use emergency ballots or provisional ballots while equipment issues were resolved.”
There are more than 2,000 poll workers in the field, Barron said. “Voting began on time at all locations, and there have been no significant lines.”
He said that voter turnout has been steady, but light. “We often see a peak in the evening hours.”
There were 24 early voting locations, with a total of 74,220 votes cast. That’s a much larger turnout for early voting than in the 2017 election, Barron said.
The county issued 7,365 absentee ballots, and as of yesterday, more than 4,800 of those had been received, he said.
Barron expects election results by 11 p.m. for the precincts outside of Atlanta.

Today’s election should decide the next Sandy Springs mayor and city council, along with three city council seats in Dunwoody and two city council seats in Brookhaven.
There could potentially be a runoff for two Sandy Springs council districts if the top two candidates do not get more than 50 percent of the vote today. The runoff election is set for Nov. 30.
